Our Promotions Prayer Service and Graduation Ceremony was held on Friday 24th June. Children from each class placed candles and baskets containing each child's name on the altar to open our Prayer Service. This was followed by prayers, songs and a liturgical dance. During our Prayer Service we had special prayers, songs and presentations for Mrs.Kelly, Ms.Mc Reynolds and Mrs.mc Kenna who are leaving our school this year. As symbols of work done in Junior Infants and Senior Infants were placed on the altar these children were promoted to Senior Infants and First Class. We then prayed for the First classes who were moving to their new schools and each child in first class was awarded a Graduation Certificate.

First Class then entertained their parents, the staff and all the other children with an excellent performance of music, song and dance. We listened to the children playing the tin whistle and then we heard the true story of Christian the Lion and watched as the children danced to suitable jungle songs. The message in the story echoed our thoughts that although the boys and girls would now be apart they would in fact be forever friends. As parents and teachers watched the boys and girls head off in opposite directions to St. Mary's Boys' School and St. Louis Girls' School our happiness and pride in the children was tinged with sadness at their leaving. We hope they will be happy and do their best in their new schools.
