Science Week in St. Louis Infant School

Science Week is an exciting and innovative annual event. As this event unfolded in Nov.2011 all the children in our school were transformed into "Little Einsteins" for the duration of the week. The fun filled events were an ideal way to develop an interest in the world around us and at the same time develop the creativity of the children. Children experimented with static electricity, changing liquids, energy and forces, magnetism. Some classes made electrical circuits while others managed to make a volcano erupt.

Science week gave each of the classes the opportunity to explore all areas of Science- Living Things, Sound, Magnetism, Energy and Forces, Light and Heat and Materials. The children made predictions, carried out experiments and reflected on the outcomes. We saw volcanoes erupting, made lava lamps, explored magnetism and electricity. The effects of rising heat, colour and light were explored and some interesting facts regarding healthy teeth were discovered.
A special word of thanks to Mrs.Mc Carey for organising Science Week activities in our school.
